zNano came across this story from June 6 about the death of a whale in Thailand, caused by ingesting about 80 plastic bags. Part of our work focuses on removing microscopic polyester and plastics reaching our oceans through laundry facilities. These particles are so small they cannot be seen, but they bond with other like-molecules and create a glue that collects other plastic. Because they are invisible, most of the world doesn’t worry about them. But 80 plastic bags? How can this be ignored?
